about

admin_hub is built by an IT technician who does a bit of everything: clients and servers, networks and storage, Microsoft 365 and security. It is the one place for the things that are otherwise scattered across bookmarks, old scripts and paid tools.

what it is

A workbench for people who run IT. Readers turn what you already have into plain words: log files, SMART output, certificates, firewall rules, sign-in logs, Conditional Access policies, suspicious mails and bounce messages. Walkthroughs take you from "it is slow" to the cause. Planners and calculators size a network, a backup or a RAID before you buy it. Around them are cheat sheets for Windows, Linux, networks, virtualisation, scripting and Microsoft 365, checklists, an attack map, an incident simulator, a glossary and a news feed. The home page sorts it by what you are trying to do. The start-here page sorts it by who you are.

how it works

Your data stays with you
The tools run in your browser. Logs, policies and passwords you put in are not uploaded. The few tools that contact another server (DNS lookups, the breach check, the connectivity check) say so next to the button, and the privacy page lists them.
No account, no ads, no tracking
Nothing to sign up for and nothing watching. The optional cockpit keeps your results in your own browser and nowhere else.
Works offline
After the first visit the pages are cached, so the reference material and most tools work without a connection.
Checkable
Where a page states facts that change, such as end-of-support dates or MITRE technique IDs, it links to the primary source so you can verify them.
Honest about limits
The analyzers produce leads, not verdicts. Each one says what it cannot see, and which checks it skipped because a column was missing.

getting around

Press Ctrl K anywhere to search, or to paste an IP address, a domain, an error code, a token or a timestamp and get an answer on the spot. Press ? for the keyboard shortcuts. The language button in the header translates a page on your own device in Chrome and Edge on desktop.

how it stays current

The news and exploited vulnerabilities pages are rebuilt automatically every few hours from public feeds, with links to the original sources. Everything else is written and checked by hand.

mistakes

There will be some. If you find a wrong error code, a broken command or a tool that gives a bad answer, get in touch.
