dhcp-not-working

A client with 169.254.something, or with an address from a network nobody knows. Nine steps from the client to the switch port, each with the commands for Windows, Windows Server, Linux and the switch, and a question about what you see.

what you found

10.87.x.x, the interface names and the MAC address are placeholders. Switch commands are written in Cisco style; other makers use other words for the same things.
